Dyfan Studios - welcome
Born in South Africa, Shirley grew up in a unique and challenging environment.
Her journey began during the apartheid regime where she was confronted by the many facets of human discrimination,
and the ensuing range of coping behaviours. As a result, Shirley developed a lifelong interest in
human societies and their response to adverse conditions.
She has used her photography as a medium to explore the lives and personalities of people as diverse and contrasting
as the fishermen of the Bangladeshi delta and the Sherpas living amidst the towering peaks of the Nepali Himalaya.
A long time resident of the beautiful Blue Mountains, has given her plenty of opportunity to explore her passion for nature.
Some of her exploratory photographs capture the beauty of perceived imperfections, revealing the apparently chaotic development of time.
Dyfan Studios attempts to offer a unique perspective, developed with sensitivity and observation,
giving clients an opportunity to obtain photographic material that is inventive and unusual.
